FINALLY!!! I am DONE!!!! *doing happy dance around her computer* Seriously, it took me like forever to finish it! And I must say that I am quite proud of the result!

It's all started from my Jewelry II teacher Doug telling me to make a special piece for Student Art Show... And knowing Tireen, who has an amazing ability to make her life more diffucult, she came up with this design. Here goes the list:

1. A set of wings, cut out of 18 gauge sterling silver, textured with piece of fabric.
2. A flower in the middle, 18 gauge, textured with a pin.
3. "Ouline" of a fairy with hands (yes, each finger is cut out also, but you can only see it from the back), 20 ga, textured with fabric donated by the fellow student.
4. 12 cutout flowers for the chain,18 ga, not textured.
5. 12 cutout leafs for the chain, 20 ga, not textured
6. Three flowers (two on the hands and one hanging), 20 ga, not textured.
7. One pink topaz, 8mm set in double bezel (I HATE those!!!!!!)
8. Three amethists, 5mm (!!!!! Pain in a b***), all set in double bezels!
9. Clasp, 16ga wire.
10. So many jump rings, saldered, not counted!

Everything is cut out by me, saldered by me, polished by me and even stones are set by me! By far that's the most complicated thing I did! The interesting thing is, piersing didn't take all that long to do, the only thing that was quite frustrating is switching the blade from one hole to another... I hate that!

I learned quite a few things while making this: setting faceted shones!!!! everything is possible and if anything goes wrong, I can always blame it on Doug!! (the last one is a joke... ~_^)

I like that feeling of acomplishment that I have right now. I finally can relax a little, at least until tomorrow, and just look at the neclace, not believing that I ACTUALLY made it... I don't know what about other people, but sometimes I look at the things I made, drew, painted, etc. and have a hart time realizing that I did it. But that just me...

One last thing. This piece will appear in STUDENT ART SHOW at PJC!!! So if anyone from Pensacola wants to see it in real life, you are welcome to come!!! Admission is free, Mon-Thu 8am to 9pm, and Fri 8am to 3:30pm. My sword [link] will also be in the show as well as some of my other pieces.

[EDIT] I finally got it back from the Student Art Show and I actually won an award of $100!!!! So I am updating the image because I am not happy with the one on the black background. Hope this one is better.

First, congrats ! But be reassured, your hard work shows :D I really like this and especially this irony to make something VERY industrial looking for a very "fantasy" subject :D Your dble-bezels look clean indeed and your textures are clear.. Great job !!

This is fabulous, very well done. The sort of thing I as a beginer aspire to one day do. A plus fave for me :D great work!

I have been searching all over the internet for tutorials and such on jewelry crafting, because my husband will not allow me to take classes (one reason I am making jewelry, to get my own money so I can do what I want!) but seeing something like this... It really says to me that what is required is talent (which I am banking that I have) Time (which I have too much of) and the know how (which I am aquiring as I can.

Learning that something of this quality can be done by a beginner is heartening I can tell you. ;) Again great work, hope to see more!

It also reaaaally helps to have a place where you can work (like a bench, little torch, polishing tools... etc.), because I don't have one and it makes my life terrible! I have to go to school to do anything! *mad* Tools are expensive too...

Anyways, what kind of jewelry you want to do? Beaded or from metal? I really don't know about any tutorials on jewelry making tho... try [link] I think they might have some.

And if you want, and if you will have any question I can try to help you.
